Hi, welcome newcomers.

Hi, guys! I forgot I'd already done this, so sorry about that. It turns out I had actually recreated it on my website.

Originally, Grim Reaper said she was okay with me hosting a separate version of the community on my site. However, it seems that Wix doesn't allow community groups to be set up the same way Reddit does, or at least it doesn't let other people create their own groups. Because of that, I decided to add it myself instead.

At the moment, I don't plan on allowing everyone to create their own groups. To be honest, that would require a lot of moderation, and it just isn't practical right now.

On Reddit, Grim Reaper is the founder of the subreddit, and I'm one of the moderators. On my website, however, I'm currently the only moderator since I manage the site myself.

Essentially, I'm hosting a version of…

In the case of you assuming the rapture is on a public date...

Another practical solution would be to update your will or create a written contingency plan.

Instead of selling everything or giving your possessions away because you think the Rapture is about to happen, simply leave clear instructions for what should happen if something actually happens to you.

For example, your will could say something like:

"If I die, permanently disappear, or cannot be located for an extended period, I want this person to receive my house, vehicle, pets, and other belongings."

You could also include instructions for situations where you're eventually found alive, if that's legally appropriate for your circumstances. For example:

"If I am later found alive after being declared missing, I would like my property returned to me whenever legally possible."

The way people react to supposed end-of-the-world events has never made much sense to me.

Be smart about the rapture

The way people react to supposed end-of-the-world events has never made much sense to me.

I remember hearing about people selling their cars and houses because they believed the end of the world was about to happen. Why? Their reasoning was that all the electricity would go out and we'd be thrown back into some pre-industrial, medieval-like society.

But even if the power grid failed, we'd still have modern knowledge. We'd still know medicine, engineering, and how electricity works. We wouldn't suddenly forget centuries of scientific progress.

And why sell your car? If it's gas-powered, it can still run even if the power is out. Unless there's a shortage of fuel, your vehicle would still be useful.

The same thing happens in zombie movies. Everyone immediately abandons their homes to "find shelter." Why?

This ad is disrespectful to the mom

I don't want to judge her daughter, but I think it was scripted and I know these ads are scripted because I was behind the scenes once and was shown that most companies hand you a script and request you stick to the script with zero deviation, it's why all the sponsor ads sound the exact same. It's the same script being passed around like the tithing plate at Church.

I feel like if her mom was angry with her over the choice of cremation without consulting her first which makes the most sense as her mom did tell them that she expected they'd figure it out, so her mother may have expected a traditional burial, this makes me uncomfortable...

It makes me feel weird. It feels like the company specializes in cremation, knows many people aren't gonna want it because of the risks I list in the video + religious reasons…
