The Hybrids of Spire | Chapter 5

Walking down the iridescent halls of the palace of Lukas...

Two Neanderthal servants, Mulon & Milton, both men who had 4 children each, Mulon with 4 daughters & Milton with 4 sons, all arranged to marry in the future, followed him as his advisors. They wanted to tell him about the baby boy, Luka, but had no way of telling him without potentially infuriating the King.

Milton told Mulon in whispers just behind the Israeli King, Lukas, "How do we tell him about the boy?"

Lukas, definitively not being deaf, nor blind, says, "What boy?" Looking back at them as if they just "spilled the tea."

The servants looked at each other, their gazes awkward. Milton says "It was not us who had done it..." | "Nor I," said Mulon.

Lukas instantly hardened, he realized something was off. He says "What BOY?" Sharp, he's concerned.

Milton says, "He's a newborn, he's done no wrong."

Mulon continues in his stead "...But his mother is not a Neanderthal."

Lukas is confused as he did not permit people to move into the Israeli owned country. Spire was property of the literal Government of Israel.

Lukas asked, "Why... Um... First off, how'd he & her get in?"

Mulon puffed his laugh, kept it hidden, then whispered to Milton "He thinks the boy is an illegal immigrant."

Lukas heard their whispers and asked, "Is he not?" In English since the Neanderthals were cloned in America. and were Just accepted as a potential workforce for Israel.

1. Lukas knew English fluently. He used to live in America. Milton says, "I'll handle this, You beat around the bush, Mulon."

Lukas allowed it, and said "Start."

Thus, Milton told him, "Your men, the greatest worker, Theron, had found himself an... Um... Well, an Israeli immigrant whom he snuck in here. He met her while sneaking out of the country. He claimed he was given the job of delivering goods from Spire to Israel."

Lukas asked, "What?" in concern for the future of his country and the Jews alike.

Milton said, "I am aware that I am a Neanderthal, and thus I might sound quite racist against my own kind, but understand that it comes from the purest place of logic.

"You see, if the Neanderthals keep breaking out like this and going to integrate themselves... How do I put this? One of the Neanderthals left the country to bring back an Israeli woman and bred with her and had a baby boy.

"So... Yeah... He did not get the arranged marriage quota. So he was perfectly single. But he also... seems to have married her outside of Spire...

"He... left Spire to... basically... get an illegal marriage... in Israel... because it was the nearest country...

"And even though he's not supposed to, because Neanderthals are very few, and if the Neanderthal race—and this is really my point—if the Neanderthal race breeds with the Israeli race, if too many Israelis become mixed with this Neanderthal blood... of which I know is my blood, but I'm not trying to be racist; I'm being purely logical!

"Not only can there be issues because, how do we make medications for hybrids? But... people mixed with Neanderthal blood have a higher chance of... suffering with COVID-19. It's worse for people like us. If he keeps bringing people in, he could bring someone with COVID-19, which could wipe out our entire race. Not only that, but if too many Neanderthals breed with Israelis, that could actually lead to more racism against Israelis and Neanderthals alike.

"This is because people dislike Israelis and just Jewish people in general out of antisemitism. The reasoning behind this typically varies.

"And due to American Caucasian racism, using our race to put down African Americans, and not only that, but claiming that we are brutish and morons simply because they perceived us as Black, when in reality, we were not Black. And then, when they found out that we were white, they changed everything to make us try and look better. But now, people still believe us to be the brutish morons.

"If I... had... If I had said that all Jews were Neanderthals, that would be pegged as racism, and I'm a Neanderthal; why would I say something like that? This is my species; why would I use my own species as an insult?

"If a child like this is allowed to stay in Israel and someone finds this child and does DNA testing and finds both Israeli and Neanderthal, they'll use it to assume all Israelis have Neanderthal DNA as a smear campaign against the people.

"Not only is this a big problem for the Israeli people, but essentially, this child's existence would garner mockery toward the Israeli people! Meaning that he needs to be hidden because he cannot be popularized among the people. The mother sleeping with our species, even though I have nothing against my species, would be seen as an embarrassment to the Israeli people."

Now, Lukas doesn't hate his kind, nor their kind, but he did agree with him fully and wholeheartedly.

Lukas began asking more questions: "What do you mean he left the country and brought back a Jewish woman? That is illegal. Are you telling me... that these guards are so stupid that they didn't check with the higher-ups to see if he was... Is his job in shipping?"

Milton & Mulon nodded.

"Did you guys know that he was doing this?" said Lukas.

Milton & Mulon immediately shook their heads, "No! No! Of course not!" They uttered in a terrorized Synchrony.

"I want you two to bring me his son," Said Lukas.
