The writer is an African-American black woman who grew up in America and currently lives in America.
The Story:
Donovan had been in a conversation with his parents. As calm as they were, Jameson had to tell Donovan the truth: "We're sending you away."
Donovan was jarred, he angrily battles: "Excuse me? Where? To college?" In a state of shock.
Scarlett says: "Well, you see, the magazines have betrayed the family and are in court for spilling Royal personal business to the public."
Donovan: "Okay? We handled that!"
Jameson: "You're presence has embarrassed the family. They let all of Denmark know."
Donovan's status as an inbreed was exposed when a touring reporter, Jessica Harper, over heard Johnson in the dining room of the palace Trying to explain that "You can't depend on your family because you're an inbreed, you're siblings are siblings! They are not meant to be close! They're meant to blend into the population and be distant! That is the natural order, that's how things are supposed to be! Stop trying to use your siblings as fallbacks, the sibling relationship is only as valuable as it is useful!"
Jessica recorded it for the news, then sent it to her boss and he put it on television.
Donovan was then exiled to Los Angeles, California. It made him feel that Johnson was correct.
Donovan heard the argument he had in the palace on the televisions in the planes:
Johnson: "You can't depend on your family because you're an inbreed, you're siblings are siblings! They are not meant to be close! They're meant to blend into the population and be distant! That is the natural order, that's how things are supposed to be! Stop trying to use your siblings as fallbacks, the sibling relationship is only as valuable as it is useful!"
Donovan: "I was making them useful."
Johnson: "I mean the sibling relationship is only as valuable as it is willfully useful as in they are willing to help you out when you need them."
Johnson wasn't saying this because he was jealous of him for having siblings; this is how he genuinely feels based on his observation of siblings back in America growing up.
Johnson: "Other than that siblings are nothing more than..." (Sigh): "...Hhhh... Basically, siblinghood is nothing more than birth fodder. The more you birth, the more the world is populated with people to worship God because the base purpose for the creation of humanity is to worship Our Lord. It isn't for brothers to help their siblings or be good to their close kin; it is just to worship the Lord thy Savior."
Donovan at the time was concerned that Johnson genuinely believes that — Which Johnson did.
Johnson: "You putting your siblings as people you'd LIVE WITH if you become homeless is ridiculous, absurd, preposterous, & utterly insane; totally laughable, honestly! Hysterical & hilarious!"
He looked At Johnson sitting across the table together as if... Donovan looked as if he was just depressed, like he was like confused and confounded, like he was suddenly concerned and perplexed.
Johnson: "There's no way any sibling would give their struggling brother or sister a home without any level of resentment! Because in their mind, at least back in America, they BELIEVE the lost sibling can take care of themselves or should be able to take care of themselves!"
Johnson: "I mean, honestly, how can you even trust them like that! Are you insane to believe that they are even reliable?! Of course you are! Like are you truly insane enough to believe that you can trust a brother to save you from anything? Especially including homelessness? That's like asking your parents or siblings for a home after becoming homeless in New York—you're ALWAYS ACCIDENTALLY asking for the opposite—ZERO HELP!"
DONOVAN: "Johnson, we're in Denmark. This is Europe. The culture is different here. American culture was built around oppressing everything and everyone just to solve minor inconveniences and creating larger inconveniences."
The recording ended there.
Donovan did not know if Johnson was right; Only that he'll be stuck in the gutterous America...
To be continued...
