This actually made me feel really good. Jackson was super relieved—he knew Cailee was his kid. He was like, “Okay, that’s a huge weight off my shoulders. I’m taking Cailee back!”

Jason, on the other hand, said, “You know what? We’re just going to keep Cailee a bit longer—maybe an extra month or two—just to make sure she’s safe with you.” We’d been letting Jackson have Zoom calls with Cailee, but he wasn’t having it. He erupted over Zoom: “You can’t take my Cailee from me! You can’t take her away because you think I’m not a safe parent!”

Jason’s girlfriend, Meghan, stepped in to calm things down. She said, “Okay, we’ll give you the baby back, but I’m going to stay with you for a bit and monitor her.” They agreed, and pretty much the same day, we moved Cailee back in with Jackson, with Jason’s girlfriend staying for a while to help.

After that, things pretty much went back to normal without the baby around. I missed her a bit because I had a lot of fun with her. I’d show her my favorite music—everything from heavy metal to rap to trap, some classic epic tracks, even stuff like Ave Maria. Doom Slayer tracks, Mick Gordon essentials—she loved it. It was totally cool.
