F.N.A.F. | In the Flesh | A.U. | "We Need To Talk About Jackson" | Part 7

So a couple of weeks went by, and it was pretty much revealed that we had to have a meeting to see how much we had to work on the game.

I’m at work, and I end up going to the bathroom to wash my hands. My stomach was really bloated, but I figured I was probably just gaining weight, so I didn’t think much of it. I’m not ugly and still consider myself handsome, so I just left it alone. I figured as long as I could pull a baddie, it was fine.

The next day, I threw up and still felt bloated. I didn’t think I was sick, maybe just a virus. I even considered that Jackson could have poisoned me, though I didn’t put it past him. Either way, I decided to go to the doctor. They said they would book me an appointment, but it wouldn’t be until the next day.

At the same time, I didn’t want to leave Cailee alone because I didn’t trust Jackson. I needed Jason to come over.

I texted Jason to explain what had happened between me and Jackson, though I left out the parts about the attempted cheating with Jason’s girlfriend, Meghan—obviously, that would have complicated things, and Jason is my roommate.

I needed a place to live. Jason immediately drove over to the house and texted me, “I’m going over there.” While I was at work, he kept messaging me, saying, “Yeah, this guy is crazy. I think I might have to take Cailee.”

It was really difficult to focus on work. This situation was serious, and everything was spiraling. At a meeting, we had to deal with it professionally. While discussing reviews, my coworker suggested, “Hey, I know you’ve been sick recently. Maybe you should stay home and go to the doctor.”

I replied, “I booked an appointment. I don’t need to stay home right now. I’ll just wear a mask and gloves. I want to be here for this meeting, and the company might fire me if I don’t.”

When we got the reviews back for the game, I wasn’t really focused on the content itself. The main issue that everyone agreed on was that the AI design of Springtrap was sloppy and some parts of the game didn’t meet standards. I couldn’t believe it. I thought, "dude, you’re making that up—they didn’t say that." But then my supervisor, Gary Jonas Trotter, my boss's nephew, showed me the reviews, and I was ticked off.

I knew the game was broken, and Jackson was to blame.

My supervisors said, “I know Jackson was having issues, but this needs to be handled. He can’t go around messing with the AI.” I had put a lot of work into it. It was an early prototype, but I knew Jackson had broken it.

My supervisor, Gary Jonas Trotter, made me feel conflicted. I kind of felt sorry for Jackson, but at the same time, this was encroaching into business.

I didn’t expect Gary Jonas Trotter to actually take action since Jackson's mental health is openly plummetting—it might sound harsh, but I overheard him talking to other employees: “Maybe we should fire Jackson.”

The others responded, “No, he’s really stressed out. He might hurt the baby.” Jackson's poor mental health was well-known at the company as Jackson could just break down at work—he wasn’t stable.

Basically, the main stressors were Jackson and the baby. Female employees even offered to take care of Jackson’s baby for a bit. Many of them, particularly older women, were serious about it. Jackson, of course, kept saying "no."
