Melanie’s Point of View:

Theresa's playcare caretaker was Jemina Thompson, a very kind woman to her. Jemina got her everything she wanted to compensate for being in playcare, but she never spoiled her by not disciplining her. Theresa has been grounded before.
Jemina lived in the ghetto while working at playcare, and thus, taught Theresa ghetto stuff. Theresa also learned about menstrual stuff, pregnancy, birth, etc. Because Jemina didn't know how much time they had together before Theresa was picked by a scientist to be harvested and have her soul and vital organs transferred into a toy.
Jemina wanted to prepare her early in case she'd still have those issues as a toy because Jemina wouldn't be able to be with her. Theresa was also black and so was Jemina, Jemina would try to prepare for life as a black person and would try to slyly escape with her to no avail, Jemina ended up giving up in fear they'd make Jemina a toy.
Do you wanna know why Jemina taught her stuff about the ghetto? Because Jemina lived there for one, and two, Jemina knew that if things didn't work out, and Theresa never got an education, Theresa would have to work a minimum wage job if she got out as a toy and live in the ghetto due to lack of education, so Jemina homeschooled her.
Jemina developed anxiety and ended up teaching Theresa about it so that she'd know that Jemina was gonna act funny from then on.
Jemina kept photos of Theresa and other playcare kids Jemina used to raise, she had cared for 5 others:
Jimmy Jackson, a 9-year-old boy.
Tony Carter, an 8-year-old boy.
Sam Banks, a 7-year-old boy.
Lila Carter, a 6-year-old girl.
Miah Lorenzo, a 9-year-old girl.
Jemina would create fantastical stories about them living life on the outside as adults, doing adult things while being "toys." I spent a lot of time with Jemina and Theresa.
Jemina knew that most of them were sold, and only thought that Jimmy was sold. Jemina always prepared for them to get bought by her family that lived in Michigan. Uncle Carter Thompson bought all the kids except Jimmy because Jimmy didn't make it to production before the hour of joy. Theresa always wrote on them when she found them and told them to act like normal children to alert Carter they were her children, and they did and Carter took them in.
Jemina always made memorials of them before they were turned or even dead. In her area of playcare, you'd see beautiful photos and memorials of the children, just in case the plan to buy them back into the family didn't work and they ended up far away from the family, never to be seen again.
Uncle Carter seemed to treat them like humans and raised them accordingly. Jemina would go to visit them, but would often be forced to not take Theresa with her. Jemina had plans to leave the company without quitting and take Theresa with her and get all the kids and Uncle Carter and bring them all to another state, like New York.
Well, as we can see, that didn't work out, now did it?
To be continued in The Present Day.
